Try to find the Butcher-Alley in Bayreuth. Nobody would be able to help you, no
city map, no local, nothing. But there it is - the Butcher-Alley. Right on the
edge of Bayreuth.
It is only known by a small number of initiates, as an alley full of life,
glamour and busyness. It's a place of meeting where you can have a small talk or
only meet during daily duty or after work.
This alley is also the only way to get to the Holzkistn (Wooden Box) or the
Hainbuchenplatz. and that's why it is the most important and walked on way in
the whole company. But a lot of people also used back ways.
Some poeple might think why they had given the alley the name Butcher-Alley. In
Germany in the dark ages poeples job became their last names. The same happened
with butcher, in German "Metzger". So these alley was not named after the job
but after our former first sergeant who's name is Metzger and did plan the whole
installation "Pergola" and did push it into practice.
All this happened after the 6th company moved from Roth to Bayreuth in 1994.
